The fleet of American sport fish boats has grown to 15 here in St thomas. No boats have fished this week locally. One boat did run all the way to St Martin over the past few days. The fished in seas up to 12 feet and managed a few marlin. The rest of us are sitting here waiting on this next full moon. Each day the boat crews are doing maintenance and preparing for the coming week. Kyle and I are defiantly read to fish again.
The past two days have brought quite a bit of rain with the passing of a tropical wave. The island needed the soaking rain though. The small daily showers are just not enough.
I went for a run this morning and as usual thing just seem to happen to me. As I always say, I don't have to make this stuff up. The roads here suck for going for a run. I started heading north towards Sapphire beach but the path on the side of the road got rough, so being adventurous, I made a right off the road onto a dirt road. It was hilly and kinda nice but after a ways I rounded a bend and there in front of me was a box truck and two pick up trucks siting there. There was a group of rasta dudes hurriedly loading the pick ups. I stopped. So did they. Then one of them barked at me " ay boy ya don be seein nuttin. Turn it rond right naw and there be no problem.". I turned and trotted as fast as my fat ass could move. It looked like they were just stealing some stuff but I dare not think how bad that could have gone. No more dirt roads for me.
This afternoon was the first sunset in days. The evening is balmy but there is a nice breeze. The dock is quiet tonight. Last night all of our dock was full of small puerto Rican pleasure boats that made the trek over for the weekend. Man can they pack some people on a boat. The we're at least five kids on all the boats as well as extended family. They were all real nice but it is nice to have the dock quiet again. On top of all the PR boats,we had some big storms last night. It's just nice to sit here and watch the marina wind down.
