The New Blue Heaven

The new ride
Merry Christmas. !!!!!!  I got what I want for Christmas  And got it just in time. For the last few weeks, We have had the new Blue heaven at Viking boat service center in Riviera Beach. We have the hull color changed from Light green to atlantic blue, we had a black mask painted across the brow. We had the underwater paint redone and the boot stripe modified. But the most significant thing I think we did  is to have the transom painted to look like teak. It was very expensive but it sure does look pretty. Real teak on the transom presents many maintenance issues. But the way we did it is much better. The transom is painted to look just like natural wood. If a marlin bill were to strike it, It is easily touched up by a painter.
The weeks we spent in the paint shed we well worth it. The boat stands out as a real show piece. I was impressed when half the employees at the viking yards in Riviera stopped work when the boat came out of the boat shed. Everyone was taking pictures and remarking about the boat.
We splashed the boat last a few days ago. After spending a night in West Palm, we ran the boat south. we fished for a bit, but did not see much. We did pull the hook on one sailfish. We pulled into Ocean Reef club for the evening before continuing the next day to Key West.
The following morning, we saw lots of sailfish but could not get them to bite. They were to busy showering schools of ballyhoo on the reefs edge. The boss says the fish did not bite because of the fishes that I painted on the bottom of the boat. ( see picture)  The boat is now in Key West for the Holidays.
