Screen saver sunset pic

A great sunset pic from the end of the dock last night.

I am sitting on the dock this morning watching the sun come up It is so beautiful down here in Bitter End.
The water is clear And the scenery is magnificent. There is a nice breeze from the east and it is so quiet.
The Boss flew in on Wednesday. Kyle and I were so stoked to get back to fishing again. When the sun rose yesterday, Kyle had the back deck ready and was so excited. We headed out to the North Drop and plugged away at it for hours. A few boats caught or saw fish but We saw not a thing. Around One pm, A big blue Marlin came crashing in on the left teaser. As I reeled it in so that we could bait and switch, the fish charged the teaser lure all the way to the back of the boat. The Big Blue did not bite as it was charging. But instead just kinda swatted at the lure with its bill. this went on for quite a while. Then the marlin faded back and charged nearly all of our other lures in the spread. The Boss did a perfect bait and switch. He dropped a mackerel back to the finicky marlin and it looked like it was going to be game on but the fish once again just faded back. I know it is had for some of you to understand... But that 3-4 minutes of adrenalin and excitement as a big blue marlin charges around in your lure spread is worth all the hours of trolling and not seeing a damn thing. We did troll till 3 pm and did not see much else. Right at the end mother nature offered up a consolation prize to us in the form of a smallish Yellow fin Tuna. It made a great dinner.
We opted to not go back to St Thomas last night. Instead, we ran to Bitter End Virgin Gorda BVI. We got here to find that the Christmas in July celebration is still going on. Christmas in July is a big Puerto Rican event where in hundreds of Puerto Ricans bring their boats over and party fo a week in Virgin Gorda. Puerto Ricans get a bad rap in the boating community for being loud and a tad obnoxious. But let me tell you, they know that is the fact. They are actually very nice. Each boat is loaded with people. I mean packed with people. But it is all family. I respect them all so much. This event is all about being one as a family and having fun for a week down island. Puerto Ricans know how to enjoy themselves.
Today we are going back out at it. If the seas will allow it, we plan to fish to the east of Virgin Gorda. I hope as the moon gets bigger the fish come a little more frequently and more easily for us.
There is a tropical wave pushing through the area on Monday so it looks like we will spend the next couple days hanging down island before we have to run and hide. Hopefully it just stay a tropical wave and does not develop.
