Kyle riding some surf just outside the marina |
What a sleepless night! There is a big swell rolling in from the northeast after the passing of the cold front last night. The Marina entrance faces north. As each wave breaks at the marina entrance it surges water into the marina. All the boats in the marina are surging back and forth on their dock lines. We are probably sitting the best. I was up and down all night tightening and loosening lines so that the boat did not move to much. But no matter what I did the surge constantly changed with the tides rise and fall. There is an Ocean sportfish sitting next to us that is surging back and forth 3-4 feet. I have no idea how they are sleeping on there. All their lines are completely slack and their boat is sling shoting back and forth violently. This surge should only last another 12-15 hours. Or I hope so anyway. The reason I could not sleep other than the bad dreams I keep having is not because of the movement of the boat, but instead it is the noise of the dock lines on the cleats. As the boat surges and comes tight on each cleat, the noise is horrible. I am not sure how to describe it. its kind of a screeching grinding abrasive sound that just seemed to get louder since about 1 am this morning.

Kyle got in a surf secession this morning. I just wish My camera took better motion shots. It was real pretty watching hip carve up the crystal clear waves.
The weather here turned cool with the passing of the front last night. The air this morning is crisp and cool. There is not a cloud in the sky. We had a good amount of rain yesterday afternoon. We needed it as it had become very dusty here.
As we have no TV anymore I rely on the internet for news and such. I find myself gleaning every news article from every source just to pass the time. I get an occasional email ( which I love ) but mostly I sit and read news articles from everywhere. I am quite up do date on world events.
Looking forward to the boss coming in this week end. The seas are going to be calm as well.

Right now the Bahamas is going through their elections. If you think our election process is a zoo, you should see the hoopla over here.
