Buggin in Key West

Yesterday the winds subsided and the air temp warmed back up. Kyle and I and the crew from two other boats decided we had all waxed and clean and fixed enough on our boats so we took the Blue Too and went searching for lobster ( bugs). The air temp was nice but the water was cool. All the young deck hands aboard the boat were wimps. They had to be shamed into getting into the water. We did catch 30 lobsters, A grouper and I got a flounder with my lobster net.
After we got back we all pitched in and cooked dinner on the dock. I made my soon to be famous lobster salad and Capt Kenny fried grouper and flounder. Let me tell you, It was as perfect as it gets. The sun was setting, there was a lite breeze from the North East and the temp was about 73. The music from Schooner Wharf across the marina was great. Booze cruise and sunset cruise boats brimming with partying tourist constantly are moving in and out of the bight. The old grand wooden 80 foot sail boats ferried tourists back and forth out to watch the sunset and lube them up with cheap booze for the impending night. The "bight" as they call it, is the small harbor where our marina is. there are four other marinas in the bight. they are spaced around the bight with restaurants, bars and shops sprinkled in between. The entire scene in the evening is one that is best viewed from a easy chair sitting on the dock behind the boat at A& B marina. It is relaxing yet stimulating. There is always something new or changing around you as you sit.
For the most part all the crews that dove for bugs went to bed early. I dont think there was an open eye after 10pm.
The revelers are here though. Key west is packed with people. I think tonight I will have a walk downtown and see what I missed last night.
