My dreams of being a foot model are over

Hemingway wrote of fishing around Key west with passion and a talent for describing things like no other. He wrote of epic battles with large blue marlin in the teaming waters south of Key West. We saw none of what he wrote of last week when we fished the Key West Marlin tournament. It was a slow tournament for most of the 33 boats. I think we tied for last with 28 boats. Oh well oh marlin season was good to this point. There is no sense in dwelling on a few bad days of fishing.
With the tournament behind us, We set our eyes on lobster season. Actually Mini Season was the last two days. It is a short 2 day season before the main season on August 6th.
In the days before it opened we scouted out spots to find where the tasty crustaceans were holding up. I love to catch lobster and was looking forward to it. Two days before season opened, we were anchored off a small island. We were swimming around and relaxing between scouting. Shit just always happens to me. I went to climb up onto the boat and lost my grip. I kicked my foot onto the lower unit and layed my foot wide open. It was a nasty deep laceration. So I started the motors and hauled ass back to Key West. I spent the next 5 hours in the Lower Keys Hospital of Key West. ( 4 and a half hours of that was waiting in the waiting room. ) Let me tell you. one can always see some weird stuff coming in and out of the ER. But this IS Key West!!!! Yes there were the screaming pregnant women, and the occasional nasty bleeder walking in But  One guy disappeared after being admitted to the ERHe was in a wreck and unconscious. , another guy was whacked out on something and thought he could fly. No kidding I think he flapped his wings for 2 hours.  The laseration was deep and required stitches. Looks like my dreams of being a proffesional foot model are over. I my have to settle for sock model.
Tyler and I with our Bugs
So for the past two days I have watched from the solar heated deck of our 24 ' boat the Blue Too as Tyler and a few friends got to catch their share as well as mine of our lobster limits. The lobstering has been good. The grade is good and the numbers are good as well. I should be able to swim by the 6th of August when the regular season opens. I can tell you this... I know of one deck hand that will be sweating his ass of on deck, while I catch his share of bugs!!!!!!!

We are nuts of the same shell
