Tied up at Bimini Big Game Club |
Made it safely to Bimini. I am glad we left two days early as we have been one step ahead of the cold front pushing south for the past few days. On Monday, we ran to Marathon and had flat weather. Then yesterday, we chugged from Marathon in the keys to Bimini. The weather was perfect. The had a breeze on our starboard quarter which made for a great ride. Once we got here, It was hot and sticky from the southerly winds. So much for the Bimini Breeze that Hemingway spoke so eloquently of.
I have always said that on day two of traveling, you find yourself dog tired. Between not being use to being at sea for two days straight and the anxiety of getting everything ready, you find yourself worn out. That was the case yesterday when we arrived at Bimini. We washed the boat, Cleared customs ate dinner and went to bed before 9.
Today we will chug another 85 miles on our way to Chub key. Half of that trip will take us across the Great Bahama bank. We will look for and coral heads that we can stop on to pick up a few lobsters, then we will fish this afternoon between Northwest Channel and Chub.
Sorry no great fish pics yet and not stories. The trip thus far has been uneventful.
