Tropical down pour

Its been a bit since my last report. So I figured since we are getting a torrential  tropical shower I would come inside from cleaning the teak and give a fishing report.
The boats continue to slowly arrive one by one here at American Yacht Harbor. No one has fished at all up until three days ago.  The Reel Tight was the first boat to three days ago. The went 3 for 3 on blues on the north drop. The next day they went 1 for 2. Yesterday the Reel tight caught only one, but the Revenge went 2 for 5 on Blue marlin. Looks like the moon coming up next week will be good fishing. Kyle rode out on the Boomer fishing today. Hope they do well. It looks like everyone will be fishing by the end of this week. We start fishing on Wednesday.
Its been quiet around the marina for the past week. We got some fresh wax on the boat and did some preventative maintenance. By and large all the boats are doing the same in preparation of the coming week.
Yesterday, I decided to go for a paddle on my paddle board. When paddleing on a board, the hardest part is paddling up wind. I stroked it to the mangroves on the other side of the little bay the marina is in. Once there, I had good wind protection so I made for the rocks to the east. It was pretty easy going and then i noticed that it got really easy. I was being picked up by the current. I turned the board around and figured with the wind on my back I would get pushed home. NOT!!!! I swear it took 20 minutes to go that first 100 yards. Whew You would think that someone that knows the water would not make such a dumb ass mistake. Lesson learned though. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger as the saying goes.
A week ago I made some calls and found a condo to rent for the next month we are here before we head back to the states. I was suppose to go today and put the down payment on it. Instead, In classic Island style, when I called to meet the property manager , She informed me that she had rented it for more money.  Man I cant see how anyone could do that to a person. Oh well !
The rain had stopped while I was writing this but is now dumping again. It was sorely needed. We have had very few sprinkles for the past two weeks. The Sahara dust is really bad. Apparently the easterly trade winds carry the dust all the way across the atlantic. Each time we rinse the boat or we get a sprinkle of rain, the orange/ red dust mixes with the water and runs off the  the boat and looks like someone poured root beer all over the boat.
The rain is done now.... back to the teak cleaning.
