Firsts are always the best.

Blue marlin
Everyone remembers their first experience with most of the significant things in their lives.
Some people fish for years and years to catch their first Blue Marlin. Here in Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic, many first timer Blues have been caught.
The thrill of Blue marlin fishing, is lost to people that have never caught one. Blue marlin fishing is a time consuming sport that will wear on even experienced anglers. I have said before that " Blue marlin fishing can be hours and hours of boredom punctuated by brief extreme and intense moments of excitement. As a captain there is no bigger thrill than seeing someone catch their first Blue Marlin. It is an experience that they will never forget. The only problem after that is it becomes a disease, and addiction. You want more and a bigger one.
Recently We were offshore and had the lines in for only seconds. In fact the long rigger baits were still being put in the clips, when a blue piled onto our left teaser. It quickly switched off to the hook bait that was presented to it. Jenny was up and she got to do battle with her first blue marlin.  She buckled into the harness and fought it like a seasoned angler. It was a nice blue for the DR. Like I said it is such a thrill to see someone catch their first Blue Marlin. I was so excited that I ran down from the bridge and after high fiving everyone in the cockpit, I actually danced a little bit.
Congrats to the Special Situation, They had three Blue Marlin virgins on the boat yesterday and caught one Blue for each of them. Pretty work boys.
Here are a few pics from the last weeks fishing
