I went for a walk the other morning as the sun was coming up. Casa De Campo is so pretty in the mornings. It was kinda bitter sweet as I walked the docks and the village. We were at the end of our stay there and I will miss a lot of what CDC has to offer. The friends we have made there this season are life long ones.
To those of you that made me drink a few to many Adult beverages the night before we left.... Ouch. Those nights will NOT be missed. Who where when and how did Tyler end up on Chimy street the night before we left???? Never the less I thank you for the sandwich.
I have to say that our stay was great, due in part to Josie, Villma and Jesmin. They worked hard to make us feel at home. For them though, it was not really work. they are great people and it was a pleasure to become friends with them. We met so many more people here this year and every one was wonderful. Thanks so much to you all.
The Full Moon bite was good in CDC with lots of blue marlin flags flying each night from the out rigger halyards of the sportfish boats. The two days after the full moon slowed considerably. But as of yesterday the fish started chewing again.
Our guests flew out Tuesday so Tyler and I spent the day reprovisioning and reorganizing the boat. We emptied hatches and cabinets and got rid of clutter that accumulates over a few months of travel. Our trip is not over, but this part of it is. As I said it is bitter sweet to depart CDC. We are sad to leave but there is always a refreshed excitement when we move on to new destinations and adventures.
We headed around to Cap Cana on the Eastern tip of the Dominican Republic on Thursday morning. We had planned to leave early in the morning but the haze of our departure party slowed us up a bit. Then we had to wait for the navy to bring us our 'Dispatcho" Travel papers. They we held up though when a sailboat arrived from Columbia and decided to search the boat for hours. We finally left out around 11 am.
We have a trip to fish here in Cap Cana on Saturday . The fishing for White Marlin is pretty good here right now. With boats catching 3 to 5 a day. We down sized our tackle a bit for the whites and are eager to get out there tomorrow. On Sunday we will work our way 70 miles up the coast up to Samana. We are looking forward to doing a bit of exploring there, both on land and offshore. The Samana Peninsula is so beautiful.
Thanks again to all of our new and old friends in Casa De Campo.
