Lunch at Niki beach with my son and Kyle |
Afterwards we went in search of a barber shop. My son really needed one. I threatened to get his hair done into Dreadlocks. We found a Haitian barber near downtown. It was a real dive. But They gave a good old fashion mens haircut, complete with a shave. All three of us got a cut and shave. The only problem is my spanish is not good enough to say cut just a little off. He thought I said leave just a little. I think he even carved a Nike Swoosh in the back of my head. Oh well It feels good and will grow out.
We have already cleared out with T&C immigration. We will depart in the morning and fish our way to Grand Turk. Grand Turk is the eastern most island of the Turks and Caicos. It is about 75 miles to get there by water. We will anchor there for the evening then we will leave early in the morning to fish our way south to Ocean World Marina at Puerto Plata, DR. By leaving at around 4 am, we will deviate course slightly and fish some of the banks along the way. We hope to get some great fishing in. The weather is suppose to be terrific. I am happy to have my son along for the ride. We hope to wear out his arm fishing along the way.
I have two videos attached to this blog. One is When Kyle got bored on the ride offshore. He filmed the live well full of bait. Or as we like to call it, The green mile or death row. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uagewJTdjdk
The second is a video of last week when we were in San Sal. Everyone thinks we are partying it up and living the wild life while we are down island. This video pretty much shows what goes on most nights in a bar down island. Turn up the volume all the way. But also look around at all the nautical junk that is in this bar. It is a cool place. And Peaches is the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExhZ-ilM8Tg
