I have good memories of fishing with my dad when I was small. Fishing with kids is a perfect way to spend time with them. I have always taken Both my kids fishing when ever I get a chance. As kids enter the teen years, they tend to stop wanting to do as much stuff with their parents. Hell at times it seems as though they hate us............. They know better than their parents......They have the world figured out......... Fishing always brings everyone back to a common ground place. Heck My son and I talked more when we went fishing when he was a teen than any other time. Now my son is off at college, He and I talk on the phone or text regularly now. But its still not the same. It seems he has grown up a bit. We have gone from arguing about why he did such a crappy job of mowing the lawn to discussing politics. So when he asked if he could spend a weekend with me traveling I jumped at the chance. I am so very excited. It will be a great experience for him and such a pleasure for me. I hope to catch him a billfish. I have a couple of promises to friends out there to try to catch them a billfish. I hope one day to do it for them but this opportunity for my son is a really good one. On top of that what a better way to spend quality time with your son than standing on a dock drinking an adult beverage while watching him wash the boat.

Another mahi mahi hits the deck |
We fished the boss yesterday. It was his last day of this visit to fish. We ran the boat all the way around past west Caicos to the sea mount out 28 miles west of there. We lost the two big fish we had hooked there. We had a very big tuna hooked, But the man in the grey suit ( shark) decided that he wanted it. Then we had a monster wahoo on. for a while but it spit the hooks. We never saw a billfish. We did do some deepdropping and caught some more snappers. Oh and we caught some Mahi mahi.

Nice bull Mahi |
All in all it was a great trip for the boss. We caught him a Blue Marlin, Anchored out one night, Caught and lost lots of real big Wahoo and Mahi. We snorkeled pretty reefs and had some great adventures. I look forward to him getting back as soon as he can. Our plan as of now is to depart Turks and Caicos tomorrow (Friday) and fish our way to Grand Turk. We will anchor for the night then fish our way the last 100 miles south to Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. My son is going to have a blast.
