Its 4 am. The moon that had been full over the past few nights is waning as is our time left here in the states. As I sit out on the back deck, the breeze has freshened this morning and the clouds are increasing in speed as they are floating past the moon. Even though the moon is past full, the sky this morning seems so bright. I cant tell you why I am up at 4 am. I just could not sleep. I seemed to have just laid down when I got up..... Ahhhhh Kenny C is playing low over the stereo..........
The boss arrived Thursday after noon with the guests. Minutes after he arrived the airconditioner went down in his stateroom Jeeze !!! glad we are doing this trip before I head south.  We have had a number of glitches. On Thursday we were to begin fishing. But as we got up on Thursday morning The winds had not yet decreased as they were suppose to do. So I call an Air conditioner guy and had him come to the boat. He worked on the AC a better part of the afternoon. It looks like Monday I am changing out an AC unit. He was able to make it work thru the weekend.
We did go out that afternoon at three pm. We caught one Sailfish and raised a few more. The Boss caught the sail. ( the first billfish of this trip. There will be many more.) We were fishing using kites. Kite fishing involves flying a Kite off each side of the boat. There are clips on the Kite line that you attach the fishing lines to. This puts the baits way out behind the boat and keeps the live baitfish dangling just at the surface. By late that  afternoon, the winds died out completely as we finished out day with a spectacular ride home into an incredible sunset.
Yesterday, ( friday) we left the dock at 8 am and headed straight to the reef. The winds were slack, so we slow trolled our live baits. we hokked one sail but is jumped off half way thru the fight. After a few hours, it was appearent that the sails were not going to cooperate. So, we got out the swordfish tackle and headed offshore. On the way out, we found what apeared to be what was left of a big wooden chair floating. Under it was a bunch of bait fish and a few Tripple tails. I slowed and came about. As I idled up I searched the water for signs of Dorado. This was a perfect spot for them. But they were not home. We thew some shrimp at the tripple tails and were able to catch two nice ones. Then Kyle deployed the seacret weapon. Using the secret weapon, The boss and guests were able to pick up three Wahoos. We did try swordfishing for a few hours, But to no results. Back on the reef, We fished for Snappers the rest of the afternoon.
As I am sitting here there are two white herons engaged in some sort of mating ritual. They are posturing and strutting around each other behind the boat. It as if they are trying to strike just the right pose that will turn the other one on.
Today is out last day of fishing. The breeze has come back up. Hopefully the sailfish will be on the rip and biting.
My mates Grand father passed away this weekend, So my condolences go out to his family. Kyle handled it very well. Kyle is flying home with the boss tonight. He says it is all good, But he needs to go home for a day or two and be with and see family.
So, That leaves me with a full plate. Other than AC problems I had a bank of lights go out in the salon. God only knows where Bertram put the ballast for that string of lights. Should be fun to look for. I have said it before and will say it again, Boat builders should have to work on a boat for a few years before they are allowed to design one.
There are a few mosquitoes starting to buzz me so I am going to end this blog. If We have a good day sailfishing I will send a report, If Not..... ya wont here from me.
