Red necks and marlin fishing

Blue Heaven last year in Casa de Campo DR
I was standing on the back deck a few minutes ago admiring how nice the freshly sanded teak looks and wondering while I shivered from the cold as to why the hell we did not just finish the last 3 square feet of sanding before we went to the hunting camp this past weekend.  Then I walk into the cabin and flip on the computer and the first to things I see are the Delta Dawn sitting in a slip at Casa De Campo in the DR and the Who Dat leaving Orange Beach headed for the DR.  Im ready to leave tomorrow but the boat is not quite ready Yet.
It always comes down to the final week or so when all the projects we have been doing during the off season come together. Our engines are fresh, We painted the engines and the engine  room and made upgrades to the entertainment system. Our teak is nearly sanded. Now we begin stuffing the boat with as much crap as we can.
This last weekend we took the invite from the boss and went up to Yon Creek Plantation. Dan got to shoot his first Deer. Very happy for him. Its always a momentous occasion. Tradition has it that a new hunter upon killing his first deer has to drink the blood or take a bit of the heart of his first kill. This particular deer was a stinky one. so I opted to just smear blood on Dans face. He still nearly puked. AHHHH good times good times.  It was nice to go sit in the woods but my mind continuously wandered back to the boat and all we have to do in the 12 days we have remaining before we depart for the Dominican Republic. Lots of waxing and grocery shopping.
I know I have hammered y'all with this, but if any boats are heading south over the next few weeks, Feel free to Stop Off and Drop Off any rebuilding supplies you can think of that could be used by our friends in San Salvador and Flying Fish Marina. Just call one of those marinas before you depart the states and ask what they need. Any rebuilding supplies brought to the islands is STILL DUTY FREE.
San Salvador is still offering one night free dockage for any boat bringing in any substantial relief supplies.
We are surely looking forward to this season, all of our friends along the way and the places it will bring us. I hope you all enjoy the stories from the travels that Dan and I will be doing this season.

Looking forward marlin fishing again

Beats the hell out of driving to the hunting camp

Good times and good friends at YCP
