The blues are coming

This morning the tropical showers are passing thru and washing most of the Saharan dust from everything it has coated over the past few weeks. The surrounding mountains and hills seem to be turning brighter shades of green by the minute as they soak up the needed rains.
The fishing has been slow up until the past 4 days. It is finally beginning to pick up and the bigger fish are showing up. There had been talk amongst the boat crews, questioning if the blue would not show up here this year. But as one of the old timers here says " They've been coming to the North Drop of St Thomas to spawn for 40 million years, they will come". With the full moon of this month, They are indeed beginning to show up. In the past few days the boats went from seeing a fish every day or two to seeing numerous fish. The fish are big as well. There have been quite a few 400 to 500 lb fish caught. A few boats have caught or seen them bigger than that as well.
Family trip at Peter Island
Last week we spent time with the boss's family down at Peter Island in The BVI's. It was very nice. Peter Island is a private resort and extremely well maintained. Capt Chris Biddles flew down to assist me for the week and it was a pleasure to work with him again. He had never been to the Virgin Islands. It was great having him along and sharing it with him.  We visited
Capt. Chris at the Baths Virgin Gorda BVI
Quite a few different places. We snorkeled wrecks and reefs and fished. We visited the Baths ( a Beach full of Cool rock formations and tidal pools. )

Even in Paradise. there are dirtbags. Recently the area around Red Hook in St Thomas, has been plagued with Credit card fraud. We have had two cards hit, and many of the boats here have been hit as well. But locals  have had their credit cards compromised as well. PLEASE, if you know anyone in Red Hook, Have them check their statement daily. It is rampant.  These dirt bag criminals are playing havoc  with the businesses here. It is horrible. One boat has had four different cards compromised in the past few weeks.

I have my son here this week to fill in for Tyler.  I am looking forward to spending this time with him. Like I told him " Your my son, But this week, you are also my Deck hand"
I have had many people ask me how Tyler is doing. He is home with his father and visiting him daily at the hospital. He is staying strong.
