The Blue Marlin Blues

When you have had the great luck that we have throughout this entire trip with Blue marlin fishing, Its tough to go through a day like we had two days ago. This link to a George Strait song kinda says it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhsG1eRmzhU
We fished an entire day and only saw two Blue Marlin. only one bit the lure, but it did not stay hooked up.  Oh well. Thats fishing, Still, it is brutal to stare at the lures behind you all day long and not see much. We have just been very fortunate fishing here. With the fishing we have had here, I figured it would be the place where the boss's son would finally get the Blue marlin monkey off of his back and catch his first Blue. It did not happen. In fact the other boat fishing did not catch anything that day either.  The are on the back side of the dark moon. As the moon moves towards full again the bite should get better again. I have done this long enough to know that there will be days like this though. .
Yesterday, We took the boat down to Palmia. It is a beach about 10 miles from CDC. The beach there is lined as far as you can see with palm trees. There is a sandbar that pushes off the beach where numerous boats come to party and swim in the clear waters. We anchored off the beach and had a relaxing afternoon. With the exception of having to watch Farlow with no shirt on.
Our time here in CDC is drawing to an end. We are going to watch how the bite goes over the next couple of days. If it picks back up as we near the next full moon, we will stay and the boss will come down for one more trip. If the fishing slows, we will head to St Thomas for a bit. I am looking forward to a change and cant wait to shake these "Blue Marlin Blues"
