Rain rain Rain

a bad egg and a good egg
Yesterday morning I got up and went for a walk. When I  got back to the boat I had a cup of coffee on the  back deck. The scene was beautiful.  The sun was just coming up over the jetty and Confresi beach. The mountains to my right were veiled in a mist that was emanating from the jungle and rolling down to the coast. It was warm and steamy . The rains from the night before did nothing to cool down the temperatures. But It still felt good. There were birds everywhere. Lots of tropicals. Some brightly colored finches that I have never seen before. There were parrots raising a racket from the rigging of a sail boat one dock over. The mist that was in the air is thick with the smell of fresh rain and mixed with the smell of the sugar cane fields that are constantly being burned here as they are harvested. It was quite the beautiful morning.
The Easter bunny forgot to leave me anything yesterday, But it did stop by and leave an egg for Kyle and Patrick. How does that rabbit know that they were here????

This morning in contrast to the previous morning is not to pretty. I woke up to the boat surging in the slip at 5 am. As daylight came, the sky was dark and full of clouds ready to dump rain again like it had done all night. The mountains are completely covered in steam and rain.  I stood at the back door of the boat looking out at the weather and just kinda sulked. Last night we had torrential rains and Lightening. . As I stepped off the back deck and onto the dock this morning, I saw that the water in the marina is brown like the Mississippi river. All the run off from the mountains has clouded the water to a chocolate color. I walked over to the Jetty to see what the seas were like. I did not have to go far. There are waves throwing spray over the top of the jetty already. There is a north swell of up to 10 feet that is suppose to build towards us all day. ( As I am writing this, The rains have begun again. Man is it pouring).

I could sit and sulk, But the past few days have been to good to let a little rain ruin it. I received quite a few emails from some of you telling me to make sure I soak in all of the trip I just had with my son. Trust me I needed no reminding of how wonderful an experience it was. I was blessed to have good fishing and calm seas and great quality time with my son. I wish it did not have to end. But I do have to take him to the airport today. I will be sad to see him leave.
I do want to thank those of you that have been dropping emails to me. I relish each and everyone. It is so nice to hear from each of you. Thanks for the words of encouragement as well.
I have also attached the disheartening video of that Big Wahoo head coming to the boat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpH5-TxdfzQ&feature=g-upl&context=G2968529AUAAAAAAAAAA

Also attached is a video of Confresi Beach. It is not one of the prettier beaches on the island. But my son and I had a good time sitting at a bar there and drinking a few beers together as we watched the locals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ANRd48hybI&feature=youtu.be

I'm always sad to leave my family in Pensacola, and at the same time, I know we will be together again soon enough. Have to learn to enjoy it while you got it, then let it go, and anticipate the next time. Glad you had a great time.
