It's the last night stateside. This afternoon we moved the blue heaven from the main marina to a residential canal here in ocean reef. We are tied up behind a home that is owned by a friend of the boss. The reason why you ask? Because we can have a fuel truck with a long hose fuel us in the morning for 1.35 a gallon cheaper than at the marina. That's big when you are putting on 1000 gallons.
Kyle and went into key largo this morning and restocked the boat a little. Two of the things that do not last and are tough to replenish over the next few weeks are milk and half and half. Seeing as how I like my coffee tan and strong, I doubled up on the half and half. The milk never seems to last. Between cereal in the late night cookie monster raids. The milk goes quick. And what goes better with milk than my favorite cookie in the world. The magnificent double stuff Oreo. Between watching what I eat lately and then the last few days having no appetite from being sick. I think I might splurge and have two with a glass of USDA skim milk.
The boat seems to be sitting ready. Now. All the stuff we broke last week is fixed or repaired. The crossing tomorrow should be ok. We just plan to go ten kts. Our goal is to leave the reef around 10am and be in Bimini around 4 ish. We already have the wahoo tackle out. As long as we are going slow, we may as well fish along the way.
I am writing this as I sit in the helm chair on the bridge. The sun set was great again tonight. The sky has now turned from orange to purple. The homes on the west side of the canal have lots of palm trees. They are all a perfect backdrop for this evenings sky. I look forward to a good one at Bimini Big Game marina tomorrow.
Kyle would like to express his gratitude to all of your kind words on his grandfathers passing.
For those of you that call or text me, try to use email to stay untouched for the next few weeks. I have international calling on my phone but cell service in the bahamas can be sketchy. Each night should find us at a dock with wifi. I will check my email each night and look for any correspondences. There are those of you that say you will write. I hope you do.
Good night from key largo and I think I can justify one more Oreo

Now I know something else to add to care packages/supplies, not that we haven't put a dent in the Oreo stock on the Blue Heaven in the past. Guilty. Safe crossings. Standing by for the next communication. Hope to catch up with you, Kyle and Blue Heaven soon.
