buggin out

Last night was one of those low key nights. Nothing happened and it was just a relaxing time. All of the crews from the sportfish boats and the yachts here at the marina cooked out on the dock. We all sat around and ate burgers, guacamole and blackened hogfish. Everyone thinks we live the wild life. Last night was what its all about. The temperature was perfect and the beer was cold. I will take a night like that over anything. A  few of the younger guys went into town last night afterwards, but found that Key west has turned it down a few notches in the last few days.              Today we did our final preparation for the trip back to St Pete. We leave in the morning. After we got all the chores done, We grabbed the crews from a couple other boats and went out lobster diving. The conditions were not perfect but it beat the hell out of the alternative. We had a blast. We caught our limit and the grade of lobster was real nice. We had two crew along from the the yacht Chiron. They were not exactly tuned into catching bugs. They tried hard though and did manage to catch a few.
The weather has already begun to moderate for our crossing tomorrow. The wind and seas should decrease as the day goes by and as we transit northward. It looks like there will be quite a few boats heading the same way as us.
Below is a video from lobstering today. You have to go to the blog to veiw the video. reportsfromtherip.blogspot.com
